• Desert Adventures offers exciting eco-tours in open-air jeeps with great guides for individuals and groups. Pick up at hotel.

• The Living Desert presents daily "Wildlife Wonders" shows in the Tennity Amphitheatre including Tukut the bobcat with Trainer Becky Benham and Ruka the Serval with Trainer Joclynn - July Ask about our Special Grandparent/grandchild package.

• Knott’s Soak City Waterpark brings ocean waves to Palm Springs, providing a private beach atmosphere. In a pristine, relaxed setting. Open March through October.

• Boomer’s Family Entertainment Center features three themed 18-hole miniature golf courses, batting cage, bumper boats, games pavilion and more.

• The Palm Springs Air Museum contains the largest collection of the legendary fighter planes that won World War II, plus memorabilia of the era, the Buddy Rogers Theatre of the Air and many special events. 760-778-6262.

• Uprising Rock Climbing Center at Knott’s Soak City features three covered, micro-misted towers. Instructors and equipment available.

• Palm Springs Desert Museum adds new vitality and resources for its out standing changing exhibitions and fine permanent collection, as well as educational programs, performing arts and gala charity events.

• Indian Canyons - Andreas, Murray and Palm canyons - offer scenic vistas, towering cliffs and serene natural beauty for hiking, riding and picnicking.

• Palm Springs Aerial Tramway takes you for a spectacular ride from the desert floor to an Alpine forest at an altitude of 8,516 feet.

• Anza Borrego Desert State Park, one hour south of Palm Desert. There are fine resorts and restaurants in Borrego Springs, "The Town within the Park".

• Joshua Tree National Park boasts awesome scenery with giant rock formations, Joshua trees and many varieties of flora and wildlife.
Joshua Tree National Park encompasses one of the most interesting and diverse patches of desert in the United States. Its namesake species, the spiky, dramatically crooked Joshua tree, is also considered by many to be the defining characteristic of the Mojave Desert. But this huge desert park actually lies at the meeting point of the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts: The park's eastern and southern precincts, with sub 3,000-foot elevation and plants such as creosote bush,"jumping" cholla cactus, and spidery ocotillo, is Sonoran in character; its western precincts are higher, cooler, wetter, and quite densely forested with the park's namesake tree.

• Palm Springs Follies, at the historic Plaza Theatre from November through May, featuring talented performers over age 50. Plus, the Hollywood Museum, Photo Gallery and the Walk of Fame. Advance and group tickets available. 760-327-0225.

• McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts, in the Bob Hope Cultural Center, this state-of-the-art facility is a premier showcase for the lively arts. September through July. • Palm Canyon Theatre, in its first season presenting a full schedule of performances November through May. 760-323-5123.

• Fantasy Balloon Flights, established in 1981, they promise guaranteed fun and a great desert view with sunrise or sunset champagne adventures in state-of-the-art balloons with champion pilots. Group, senior and family discounts. 760-398-6322 or 800-GO-ABOVE.

• Eldorado Polo Club, where top local and international amateur and professional players compete in matches from November through April. Offering international special events, celebrity tournaments, lessons, boarding and corporate entertainment opportunities. Fourteen fields, field-side picnicking.

• Empire Polo Club is a complete facility with lush polo fields, top level polo, rodeos, balloon festivals, concerts and more. Public and private functions. On-site catering and restaurant.

• HITS Desert Horse Park is home of the Indio Desert Circuit Horse Shows, six weeks of show jumping where more than 1,500 horses compete each week for $1 million plus in prize money. January through March. Admission $5.00, 12 and under free.
